Pietersite is a stone comprised of 3 different types of quartz: Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye and Jasper. This combination creates a chatoyant gem (as the gem moves, a reflected light called a "cat's-eye flashes beneath the surface) with deep blue black and rich orange tones. Pietersite can be found in areas around the world including China, and Namibia, South Africa.
